Ultrasonic Spot Welder

Ultrasonic spotwelding is used predominantly when, for instance, flat mouldings without weld preparation (ED) have to be welded (e.g. semi-finished products, thermoformed, blow moulded, extruded and large-surface mouldings).1

The principle of ultrasonic plastic welding is to produce 28KHZ high frequency signal and energy exchange system by generator, and convert the signal into high frequency mechanical vibration. The temperature of the interface is raised by the friction between the surface of the workpiece and the inner molecules. When the temperature reaches the melting point of the workpiece itself, the workpiece interface will melt quickly, and then fill the gap between the interfaces. When the vibration stops, the workpiece will be cooled and fixed at a certain pressure, and then the welding will be achieved.2
